The Cross River State Chapter of CREN has successfully worked with the One Sky Nigerian office to install a demonstration solar (PV) system to power the office operations and serve and serve as an educational display on how solar electricity works.

Calabar electrician and CRS member Henry Ofonete worked with Cross River State Coordinator Edom Tawo and One Sky Renewable Energy Programmer Monica Samec to design and install the system. They were aided by the One Sky maintenance staff Solomon, Uket and Henry who are available to give free tours of the system to interested parties.

Before the installation, Tawo and Monica also organized three introductory solar workshops were over 50 participants learned about solar energy, its different application and system designs as well as having hand-on experience working with solar components. They even put a solar system together and ran a fan off of it!

For information about solar tours or to inquire about solar workshops please email tawo(at)renewablenigeria.org.
